YOUR MAMAS NOTES: Listen butter beans, Your Mama has some family matters to take care of today so we're pretty much out of commission. Sorry, Charlies. However, since we managed to string a few minutes together to spare and don't want to leave the children completely high and dry we're going to quickly drop a tidbit to keep y'alls mouths wet until we're back on the celebrity real estate exercise wheel.

Thanks to J.J. Bojangles we've learned that Graham Nash, one of the original members of the iconic trio turned quartet turned trio Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, has just hoisted his long time home in Encino, CA on the market with an asking price of $1,600,000.

Mister Nash, a hardcore lefty liberal political activist, was twice inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, first for his contribution to Crosby, Stills & Nash and again this year (2010) again as a member of The Hollies who worked out a song called The Air That I Breathe that happens to be one of Your Mama's favorite songs to warble along with while driving our big BMW a smidgen too fast on the freeway. The year 2010 has, so far, been a big one for Mister Nash. In addition to his second induction into the R&R Hall of Fame, he was also appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire even though he'd become a U.S. citizen in 1978. Mister Nash is also an accomplished photographer and collector of photography although he sold off his 2,000 print collection back in 1990.

Property records show that the British born musician and his wife Susan snatched up their house in Encino, CA in May of 1986 when they paid $900,000 for the .4 acre mini-compound. Listing information reveals that the gated, Tudor style main manse measures 4,609 square feet and has an impress the guests style entry, leaded glass windows, skylights and dark wood floors. The home's main rooms include a formal living with a "French fireplace," whatever that is, a "grand" formal dining room, paneled den with fireplace, home office area, kountry kitchen with center island and breakfast area, and a family room.

The second floor master suite has a private sitting room, fireplace, and balcony. There are, according to listing information, 3 additional bedroom suites on the second floor plus a staff room and a powder pooper for guests on the main level. The separate guest house contains a large studio space, office, and bedroom on the main floor and a separate bedroom suite on the second floor.

The main section of the backyard located between the main house and guesthouse/studio features a vine covered pergola, built in barbecue, swimming pool and spa and enough lawns for a few pooches to do their dirty bizness.

Property records show that Mister and Missus Nash also own a modest 1,320 square foot cottage in Manhattan Beach, CA, a secluded and tiny house on the island of Kauai in Hawaii, a condo in Sherman Oaks, CA, and another house in Van Nuys, CA they bought in 1993 for $171,900.

In the 1970s Mister Nash, a peace luvvin' recreational drug user in those days, lived in San Francisco where he reportedly owned a 19 room mansion in the Upper Haight neighborhood–natch–originally built in 1897 by a scion of the Spreckels sugar fortune. In the early 1900s Victorian mansion was occupied by writers Ambrose Bierce and Jack London who reportedly wrote White Fang there and records show the property has been owned by lefty liberal activist actor Danny Glover and his estranged wife since 1990.
